Although he prefers to keep his villa private, low-key, and hardly advertised, I believe it is important that women — particularly those travelling alone — know that such a place exists, hosted by someone of genuine integrity and care.
He also showed great attentiveness, discretion, and kindness. Having this entire villa to myself, while knowing I was quietly supported at all times, was truly special.

From the moment I arrived in Sri Lanka until my departure, I felt consistently safe, respected, and completely at ease, this mattered deeply to me.The villa itself is just beautiful with brilliantly designed areas and extremely peaceful, overlooking open paddy fields with no traffic, just local village life.
The gardens and grounds are exceptional, and I spent many hours reading, swimming, and watching wildlife. Al and Billy, the butler, both contribute enormously to the atmosphere. Billy’s calm Sri Lankan professionalism and ability to be present without intrusion added greatly to my sense of comfort and security. Alongside this, there was plenty of laughter — they often made me smile, and I hope they forgive me for saying this, but at times their wonderfully human interactions reminded me of Fawlty Towers, in the very best and most affectionate way.
During my three-week stay, I was introduced to everyday Sri Lankan life well away from tourist areas — village walks, paddy fields, local temples, and genuine experiences that never felt curated. At all times, I felt supported but never directed. Al listens carefully, respects boundaries completely, and offers guidance only when invited — a rare and invaluable quality, especially for solo female travellers.
When I wanted independence, trusted arrangements were made so I could explore safely on my own. When I wanted company, it was offered with ease and respect. One particular highlight was swimming with turtles — a lifelong wish that was thoughtfully and safely arranged.
I stayed in the Island Bedroom, waking each morning to peacocks, parrots, and the presence of the resident dogs. The bed, pillows, and décor were exceptional. Cooking and baking together was another relaxed and memorable part of my experience.
I loved the fact there is a huge Dvd collection and how we could have a movie night projected onto the wall with freshly made popcorn, the whole experience feels surreal when surrounded by tropical wilderness, never have I felt so happy and made to feel part of a real special & unique set up away from other people, yet I never felt alone or lonely!
It’s a very special place with a real genuine host who goes to great length to ensure you are treated perfectly. I came here on the back of losing my partner, it was what I needed to get emotionally settled and I can’t recommend it enough.
My only negative comment is that it was awful having to leave.

MRS G REVIEW
Stayed Island bedroom 5 days December 2025.
I have travelled a lot in Sri Lanka over the years and been to many fantastic places but I have to say this Villa is very very special. I arrived somewhat under the weather and much in need of rest and recuperation. That’s exactly what I found.
Inside so comfortable with gorgeous areas for relaxing and a beautiful bedroom with amazing views out over the peaceful countryside. Outside lush gardens surround a swimming pool the perfect size for a gentle work out. In the evenings you sit glass in hand gazing over green paddy fields whilst the chanting of the monks from the monastery in the distance drifts gently past.
And that’s not to mention the care of the staff who go about their business unobtrusively making sure your every need is catered for whether that’s a light breakfast of beautifully arranged fruit or a traditional Sri Lankan meal with all the trimmings. Or indeed anything else you might want.
The house tuk tuk will take you the short distance to one of the most beautiful beaches in southern Sri Lanka for a refreshing dip in the sea. There’s plenty to see and do in the immediate area and all the while you know wherever you go you will be returning to literally one of the most relaxing places on earth.
