The Cinnamon Garden & Massage Pavilion
Toward the rear of the villa lies a cinnamon garden, where young cinnamon trees grow quietly in the shade of taller palms. When the bark is ready to be harvested, the process is carried out with care, and the funds raised are given directly to the local cinnamon peelers — a skilled and hardworking community who keep this traditional craft alive. Guests are welcome to walk through the garden, breathe in the warm, subtle scent of the leaves, and witness a piece of Sri Lanka’s heritage in its most natural form.
Following the garden path around the side of the villa, you will find the Palm-Leaf Massage Pavilion — a simple, open structure crafted from natural materials that sway gently in the breeze. Here, you may enjoy a full-body massage with Hemma, the villa’s trusted therapist of over ten years. Her treatments are deeply restorative — slow, intuitive, and tailored to your needs — whether you are seeking relaxation, release, or quiet balance.
The sound of the wind, the soft movement of the palms, and Hemma’s steady hands create a cocoon of stillness — a place where tension dissolves and the body remembers how to soften.
Meandering grass paths guide you from one named nook to another, each a quiet sanctuary to rest, reflect, or admire the shimmering paddy fields that stretch beyond. The air is rich with the scent of mango, king coconut, banana, pineapple, lemon, and cinnamon, as these trees and plants flourish freely, waiting for you to discover their hidden fruits.
The sun-house, with its woven roof and colonial-era details, exudes timeless charm. Here, an antique tea-rolling table sits among elegant palm tree columns, inviting you to linger over a slow lunch, a graceful afternoon tea, or a chilled drink after a soothing swim.

The sparkling swimming pool, 12 metres long and 4 metres wide, stretches like a mirror under the sun, its
uniform depth of 1.2 metres perfect for gentle dips. A whimsical lion-head flower pot fountain pours a steady stream into the water, its gentle trickle mingling with the rustle of leaves and distant bird songs.
Every corner of the garden feels alive yet calm, a harmonious blend of nature’s bounty and serene design.
Fido’s Seat & The Recreation Grounds
Tucked beneath a pergola draped in climbing vines, Fido’s Seat is a peaceful hideaway where dappled sunlight moves softly across your lap. Influenced gently by English Georgian garden design, curved grass steps lead you down into the space, intentionally set a little lower into the ground by the owner so it blends naturally into the landscape rather than standing out. Over time, the trailing climbers have begun to weave themselves across the metal-framed roof, creating a slowly deepening canopy of green — a living shelter that grows more beautiful with each passing season.
It is a place made for reading, daydreaming, quiet conversation, or simply watching the distant horizon shift as the day unfolds. This spot holds a tender meaning for the owner, who would sit here each evening to watch the sunset with his trusted companion, Fido, resting faithfully beside him.
As the garden continues to mature, this already becomes one of the most photographed places in the villa, likely especially enchanting for recently married couples seeking a moment of quiet beauty.
Just beyond the pergola lies a wide, open grassy space affectionately known as the Badminton Lawn. Here, a badminton net can be set up with ease for those feeling playful and energetic. For younger guests, a professional five-a-side football goal offers endless opportunities for friendly games and laughter.
Nearby, you’ll find a unique concrete table tennis table—a favourite among guests. On calm days, spirited matches unfold here against the backdrop of the swaying paddy fields, making it perhaps one of the most picturesque table tennis spots in the world. The setting turns even the simplest game into something memorable — lighthearted, joyful, and always with a view.
The Flower Garden sits gracefully along the walk, where three large circular flower beds bloom with seasonal colour and texture. These beds lead to the top of Snake Garden, where a charming circular concrete table with matching benches offers yet another quiet place to pause, chat, sip a drink, or simply admire the sweeping views.
From here, a gentle grass path winds its way through Snake Garden, bordered on either side with flowering bushes and soft greenery, eventually guiding you down toward Gate Garden.
Running alongside the 150-metre driveway is the Banana and King Coconut Grove, home to a variety of banana species, including the delicious sweet red variety — always a favourite when ripe and in season.

Another beautiful feature of the grounds is the Stone Archway, where climbing plants have just begun to weave their soft canopy of leaves. Passing beneath, the path becomes Obi’s Walk — a curved stone pathway named with affection — leading you past a large heart-shaped flower bed and onward through the lawns. Follow the walk a little further, and you arrive gently at the shimmering pool area, where the gardens open up once more to sky and light.
The entire property is securely enclosed by boundary walls and monitored by CCTV, allowing guests to relax fully, knowing that privacy, peace, and safety are quietly cared for at all times.
