Sunset Lounge

At the heart of the villa lies the Sunset Lounge — a spacious, open-air haven with a gentle Greek-inspired feel and stunning blue accents. The large, curved seating area faces the courtyard and captures the beauty of the evening sunset, making it the perfect place to unwind, connect, or simply sit in quiet reflection.

Here, time slows. You can listen to music, enjoy soft conversation, or rest in silence beneath the steady hum of the overhead fans. As dusk approaches, the resident peacocks announce their return to the palm trees for the night — a charming daily ritual that gently marks the close of day.

It’s an inviting space to work from your laptop, read, or even drift into an afternoon nap, lulled by the warmth of the air. There is no air conditioning in the lounge or kitchen — instead, the open design welcomes a natural flow of breeze throughout the space.

For families, we provide a children’s toy box filled with delights — from a wooden train track to a selection of floor-based games — keeping little ones happily engaged while parents relax.

hand-painted artist’s map of Sri Lanka decorates one wall, marking key towns and landmarks with care and colour — a favourite talking point among guests.

The Sunset Lounge is the villa’s true centre — both literally and emotionally — where family and friends naturally gather. Alongside the generous built-in seating, you’ll find a rocking chair and two large wicker armchairs, perfect for curling up with a book as the sun slips gently behind the palms and into the jungle beyond.

One corner of the room features the villa’s famous Peacock Tree — a unique creation believed to be the only one of its kind in the world. Crafted from cinnamon sticks and adorned with naturally shed peacock feathers collected from the grounds, it began as an idea for a Christmas tree. Over time, it has grown into a striking work of art, displaying hundreds of feathers that shimmer in the light. Each December, fairy lights are added, and the tree glows with warmth and memory.
