Peacock Bedroom

Equal in size to The Island Bedroom, the Peacock Bedroom offers the same sense of space and comfort, with a slightly smaller — though still generous — shower room. Often referred to as the family room, it features two super king beds, making it ideal for parents with children, or up to four adults travelling together, or two adults with their own huge bed.

This room holds a special place in the hearts of the villa’s owners, who often stay here themselves with their grandchildren — a space filled with laughter, connection, and ease. Having spent a family 4-week holiday here each year, they’ve learned what truly helps families feel at home.

For younger guests, we can provide bed guards to help prevent nighttime tumbles for children who tend to “swim” in their sleep. There’s also a toddler toilet seat with two steps, allowing little ones to use the lavatory with independence, and a portable high chair for easy mealtimes.

Controls for lighting, electrics, and the ceiling fan are conveniently placed beside the beds, and the room is fully air-conditioned, with hot water available when desired.

Floor-to-ceiling French doors open out to sweeping views of the paddy fields, the gently sloping gardens, and the shimmering pool that always seems to draw the children in. The morning light dances across the fields, filling the room with a golden calm that sets the tone for the day ahead.

As with all rooms, canvas photographs by the owner decorate the walls — here chosen with a playful, family-friendly touch.

PEACOCK STYLE FOR FAMILIES WANTING THAT DIFFERENT LOOK

When younger guests are staying, bedding can be styled with decorative peacock-themed covers upon request. Matching the Island bedroom there is a door directly onto the veranda and courtyard as well as floating steps up to the Kitchen.

All doors are fully lockable, ensuring your privacy, safety, and a constant feeling of calm and control. Floating steps lead you directly to the Sunset lounge and kitchen area.

SECURITY

We have CCTV throughout the grounds along with four dogs, so the chance of a rogue visit is slim to none. Dogs in Sri Lanka are naturally very protective of their territory—if a peacock wanders into their patch unannounced, it can quickly turn into a scene straight out of Tom & Jerry. Billy also lives here on the land, and we’re bordered on one side by a few Sri Lankan neighbours and on the other by an English friend, creating a friendly and reassuring sense of community.

Rates for the Peacock Bedroom are based on two adults. Additional adults (aged 16+) are charged accordingly.

This is a space where families find comfort, laughter, and togetherness — while still wrapped in the peaceful rhythm of the villa’s natural surroundings.
